After spitting gall to the heavans, hiding the sky from the pious, hammering the walls of temples to pin the nails that carry the 13 anti-offerings that comprises XIII EX-VOTOS, first album released in 2020, the edifices have crumbled. Only ruins remain.
“De la Ruine” are lampoons of anguish howled at the Sun, the pain of success, the intoxicating fall, grinding teeth in the face of nothingness, the failure of a victory too bitter to taste, the alcoholic delusions of those tired of the absolute.
Since it’s not presumably easy being a God, it’s no less easy being the sicarius. As what hides executioner’s mask aside from ambiguous emotions, oxymoronic sensitivities? And what passion remains when hubris expires, what purpose is left when the abyss inspires?
11 tracks. Like as many lacerating caresses in order to force the apocalypse be fulfilled in the splendid decay as we know it: shattering lies in favor of an absurd reality; the exhilarating collapse of grandiose ambitions.
